1. Who this policy covers
Hisab Karain is used by shop owners ("you," "the shop") to record business transactions, including information about your own customers. This policy explains what we collect from you as a shop owner, and how customer information you enter into the app is handled.
2. Information we collect
Account information (you, the shop owner):
- Shop name, owner name, contact phone number, and business type
- A unique account ID and PIN, issued by us, used to log in
- Subscription status (trial, active, expired) and payment confirmation you provide us directly (we do not process card payments in-app)
Business data you enter (about your customers and operations):
- Customer names, phone numbers, and order details
- Measurements, service records, or rental/tenancy details depending on your business type
- Payment and dues records you record for your own bookkeeping
Technical information:
- App usage logs (login times, sync activity) used for account security and abuse prevention
- Device and network information collected automatically by our infrastructure providers for security purposes (e.g. IP address at time of request)
3. How your data is stored
Hisab Karain is built to work offline first. All the data you enter is stored locally on your device at all times. When you choose to back up (or when your device has an internet connection during your app's sync routine), a copy of your data is securely transmitted and stored on our cloud infrastructure so it isn't lost if your device is damaged, lost, or replaced.
We retain cloud-stored business records for up to 12 months on a rolling basis to keep our service affordable for small shops. Data older than 12 months is periodically removed from our cloud servers, though it may remain on your local device depending on your device's own storage.
4. How we use your data
- To operate the core functionality of the app — storing and syncing your orders, customers, and records
- To send you renewal reminders and account-related communication via WhatsApp
- To detect and prevent abuse of our systems (e.g. repeated failed login attempts, unusual traffic patterns)
- To provide customer support when you contact us
We do not sell your data, or your customers' data, to third parties. We do not use your business data for advertising.
5. Third-party services we use
To operate Hisab Karain, we rely on the following infrastructure providers, who process data on our behalf under their own security and privacy standards:
- Supabase — our cloud database and backend infrastructure provider, where your backed-up business data is stored
- Cloudflare — provides network security and abuse protection for our servers
- WhatsApp — used only as a click-to-chat link for communication with us; we do not use WhatsApp's Business API to automatically process your customers' data
None of these providers are permitted to use your data for their own purposes; they process it solely to help us deliver the service to you.
6. Your rights and choices
- You can request a copy of your stored business data at any time by contacting us on WhatsApp
- You can request permanent deletion of your account and associated cloud-stored data, subject to any legal or accounting record-keeping requirements that may apply to your business
- You control what customer information you choose to enter into the app; we recommend only collecting what you need for your own business records
7. Data security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted network connections, access-controlled cloud databases, rate limiting, and account lockout protections against unauthorized access attempts. No system can be guaranteed 100% secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information and our customers' trust.
8. Children's privacy
Hisab Karain is a business tool intended for adult shop owners and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 18.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time as the app evolves. Significant changes will be communicated to active subscribers via WhatsApp. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
